Renovations
This house has been such a job to work on!! I knew I was going to have my work cut out for me, but I did not realize just how hard of work it was going to be. I have spent 12+ hours a day in here and still have a LONG way to go before its ready to live in.
The Bedroom
This room has proven to be quite a challenge. There were 4 layers of wallpaper on each wall plus one wall had pieces of wood nailed in everywhere. The carpet had 3 layers put down.
After 5 days of non stop work, I got all the layers of wallpaper off each wall except for one. The one that had the wood on it was extremely damaged. Rather then knocking it out and laying new wall in...I opted for a suggestion from my cousin. I took a big pail of putty and smothered the wall with it and cut in rough designs. After 24 hours I went over and sanded it all out smooth. Now tomorrow I can paint it.
I have all the walls painted, the ceilings done, and the bad wall done. On sunday I will be laying down floating floor which I got for a wicked sale of 60 bucks! I also have all the trim bought and ready to be put up everywhere. This room will officially be done on Sunday.
The dresser in this image I swindled out of Roddy, the green chair I found in a trash pile he had left...it was a ugly green with black crap all over it and chipped. I spent about 5 hours on it...after being sanded and repainted it is now very cute and useable :o)
The Living Room
Oh my god, this room has been such a freaking nightmare. Half of the walls were covered in god ugly wood paneling that was not put on properly or evenly. After 2 days I did manage to get it all down. While pulling out one of the thousands of nails he put in the wall, I managed to take out a huge chunk of the wall instead.
There was 2 layers of carpet in this room, took about 3 hours to fully get it all off. It then took me 2 days to get all of that ugly padding you see stuck to the floor off. In the end I had to use hot water and a ice scraper to get it off. The walls that had the wood paneling now have the same putty applied to them.
Once I had all the ugly wood off the walls I went outside and....
So, after 2 weeks this is what I have gotten accomplished. Anyone wanna come down and help?!
